Meet Brad Bettencourt

After spending most of his adult life in the East Valley, Brad moved into Dobson Ranch a few years ago and has enjoyed living in this area. He’s now running for State House to bring fiscal responsibility and conservative values to the legislature after gaining valuable experience in banks as a Credit Analyst and Credit Officer, as well as running his own business.

After graduating from Arizona State University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, Brad spent time living and working in 3 other states and southern Arizona, but he returned to the East Valley because it is where he feels most at home. Currently, Brad’s business is focused largely on real estate investment and does business in 3 states.

Brad’s family has a long history of serving in the U.S. Armed Forces starting with his grandfather, who served during WWII as a B-24 pilot in Europe against Nazi Germany after getting holes shot in his tent in Hawaii when Pearl Harbor was attacked, through to Vietnam.  His other grandfather served during WWII, but the war ended before he left the U.S.  However, he was heavily involved in the American Legion until his death in 2017.  He also has two uncles who served and has a cousin that is currently serving our country in the Army.  One of his uncles was a paratrooper and the other served in West Germany, standing against the communist Soviet Union.  They both served in other capacities as well.  While he has not served personally, Brad has a deep respect for our veterans after having close relatives who committed to the military for the long-term.

While living in southern Arizona, Brad worked for a bank in both Yuma and Nogales, which gave him a front row seat to our border with Mexico.  It was an interesting experience that taught him valuable lessons.  He learned more about a variety of topics, from immigration to international trade in addition to improving his Spanish while living there.  After working as a Credit Officer there, he spent time in several Latin American countries and improved his Spanish further.

Brad’s life experience has led him to be able to converse with many different types of people, whether they agree or disagree.  While he is not afraid to stand up for what is right, he is able to discuss difficult topics with those who may disagree with him, and believes that is fundamental to what the United States of America is all about.
